Certificate iii in civil construction
RII30820 Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations is a 36-month qualification which includes the units required for a skilled plant operator working within the civil construction industry. It consists of 15 mandatory core units, and 5 elective units.
This qualification is funded by The Department of Training and Workforce Development.
Entry Requirements
To enrol into this apprenticeship, students must:
- Be WA residents located in the South West region
- Be employed in the civil construction industry
- Hold a Construction Induction White Card
- Have access to a computer, laptop or tablet
- Demonstrate adequate Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills, or advise us if additional assistance would be required
Delivery and Assessment process
This qualification consists of theory and practical training and assessment components. All resources and tasks will be accessed through our online training platform. These will be released to students as they progress through the apprenticeship. Students will be shown how to navigate this on their first training day.
We will schedule with the employer for our trainer to attend site once per month for training. This could be at the employers depot or on a job site. We encourage on-site training where possible to incorporate on-the-job tasks and reduce disruption from work duties.
Generally, the written tasks and theory assessments are completed in-between visits, so the trainer can focus on the practical components while with the students.
Students will also be required to log their time spent on machinery in-between visits to meet the nominal hours for their elective units (listed below).
If a student has already completed a unit within the qualification (units with the same unit code), a credit transfer will be applied. Units previously completed are not funded by The Department.
ENROLMENT & Payment
For a student to be enrolled, a meeting needs to be arranged with a representative from Apprenticeship Support Australia to sign the student up as an apprentice and discuss funding initiatives with the employer.
Once registered, we will issue an online enrolment form to get the student set up on our platform. In this form, the student will need to upload a copy of their USI Transcript and include the elective units selected.
We will then make up a training plan for the student with credit transfers applied to any units already completed. The student and employer will need to review and sign this in the online platform. The invoice will also be issued to the employer.
Once the training plan has been approved by everyone, we can begin to schedule training.
Indicative tuition fees are listed below.
