Certificate iii in civil construction
RII30820 Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations is a 36-month qualification which includes the units required for a skilled plant operator working within the civil construction industry. It consists of 15 mandatory core units, and 5 elective units.
This qualification is funded by The Department of Training and Workforce Development.
Entry Requirements
Students must be WA residents employed in the civil construction industry and hold a Construction Induction White Card.
Students also need to demonstrate adequate Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills. We need to be notified if a student may require additional assistance or has specific needs that could affect their capacity to complete the qualification.
Students must have access to a computer/laptop or tablet to complete their assessments.
Delivery and Assessment
There are theory and practical training and assessment components to this course. All resources, assessment and log books will be accessed through our online training platform. Students will be shown how to navigate this on their first training day.
The trainer will attend one day per month for on-site training and assessment tasks. We generally schedule these sessions in advance to ensure training isn’t missed. Students are to complete the theory components in-between visits, and are required to log hours spent on machinery for their elective units.
If a student has already completed a unit within the qualification (units with the same unit code), a credit transfer will be applied. Student’s USI transcript will be requested upon enrolment.
ENROLMENT & Payment
To enrol, a meeting needs to be arranged with a representative from Apprenticeship Support Australia to sign the student up as an apprentice. Once registered, we can get the student set up on our platform and issue the training plan. Once approved by the student and employer, we can issue the invoice and begin to schedule training days.
The tuition fees listed below are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Additional fees may apply.
EMployer & student Obligations
As his qualification is funded by The Department of Training and Workforce Development, all contractual requirements must be met to qualify for funded training. This includes:
Students must be released from workplace duties for scheduled training sessions (we offer on-site training to incorporate on-the-job tasks and reduce travel time for students).
Students must be allowed time to work on their apprenticeship tasks outside of scheduled training sessions.
Students must have access to the resources/machinery required for the selected units.
Students must meet the nominal hours for their selected units (listed below) over the duration of their apprenticeship. Operating hours must be logged as evidence.
Units already completed by the student must have a credit transfer applied, the unit cannot be repeated within the apprenticeship.
These requirements will also be outlined in the Training Contract and Training Plan. Please reach out if you have any queries before proceeding with enrolment.
