Licence To perform dogging
course description
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely perform dogging work. Dogging consists of the application of slinging techniques to move a load, including the selection and inspection of lifting gear, and the directing of a plant operator in the movement of a load when the load is out of sight of the operator.
Dogging work is conducted in the construction industry and other industries where loads are lifted and moved using cranes or hoists.
accreditation & LICENCING
Candidates will receive a Notice of Assessment to perform high-risk work as an interim licence on the day they pass their assessment (payment is required prior to receiving this). A Statement of Attainment will be issued by us and posted out within 14 days of course completion. We then process the licence application on behalf of the student, and WorkSafe will post out the licence card directly.
Like a drivers licence, a high-risk licence needs to be renewed every 5 years to remain valid. Students need to do this directly through WorkSafe. If a high-risk licence is not renewed in time, the holder would need to apply for a new licence with a new Notice of Assessment, issued by completing the assessment again.
