Operate and maintain chainsaws
course description
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a hand-held chainsaw and maintain it in working condition. Covered are the skills to cross-cutting fallen timber using safe cutting techniques. This unit applies to individuals who apply low risk work procedures and comply with worksite health and safety requirements when operating hand-held chainsaws to carry out routine work.
Accreditation
Participants will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment within 14 days of completing the course.
requirements
Participants will need to demonstrate sufficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills. Please advise us if you have any LLN concerns or issues as support is available, and/or adjustments can be made to ensure you are not disadvantaged in completing this course.
Duration
The duration for this course is 6 hours, with classes starting at 8am.

Are you eligible for a CTF Rebate?
If you’re currently working in the civil construction industry, you may qualify for the CTF (Construction Training Fund) subsidy.
If you don’t currently qualify, you have up to 12 months to claim back with the CTF directly.
